I think, design and work for online and offline purposes. I design identities, logos, printed matter, websites, typography, advertising and editorial design.
I always visit the Foam (photography museum) without knowing what the exhibitions are about. The Foam never disappoints!
The thing I love about the new Stedelijk is their design section including architecture, graphics, furniture and jewelry design and more. This collection contains work from Jurriaan Schrofer, M&Co, Rietveld, Wim Crouwel, Piet Zwart, H.TH. Wijdeveld, Frank Lloyd Wright, Gijs Bakker, Willem Sandberg, A.M. Cassandre, Anthon Beeke and the list goes on and on.
In the Negen Straatjes (area) you can spend all day discovering all the nice little boutiques. Start at the Haarlemmerdijk and go from there.
When my need is high to flip through new books, I go to the American Book Center. On the ground floor you will find a big art & design section; I just love it! Across ABC there is the Athenaeum Bookstore, where they have a major selection of magazines. A couple streets further you will find Nijhof & Lee. The bookstore has a great selection books on typography and design.
By Arendsnest they have so many different kind of beers, you could spend a whole week without drinking the same beer twice. I recommend asking the bartender for suggestions. Next to Arendsnest, there is restaurant called Lieve, a belgium restaurant. Here you can choose 3 different ways of dinning, all 3 are recommended.
